11th GRADE PLANNING
During 11th grade, your counselor will check in with you monthly, and meet in person as needed. In January of your Junior year, you and your counselor will strategically focus on:
Assist with selecting courses that best align with your interests and future goals
Provide ongoing guidance for extracurricular activities
Summer Program Planning
Support in selecting writers for your letters of recommendation
College list research
College list planning
Initial essay strategy and drafting of college essay
12th GRADE PLANNING
During 12th Grade, your counselor will check in with you weekly and meet in person as needed to ensure the successful submission of all materials. Together, you will strategically focus on:
Finalizing your college list
Provide ongoing support for both your college essay and supplemental essays, including a final review from 2 additional counselors
Application support
Interview prep
Financial Guidance
Decision making
11th AND 12th GRADE
All packages including unlimited access to your dedicated counselor through various communication channels. We do not limit the number of hours we work with each student Every application and essay is reviewed by your counselor and at least one additional counselor. Additionally all packages, including essays are sent to a college admissions counselor for feedback prior to submission. We recognize the uniqueness of each student and family, and our goal is meet you where you are to ensure a successful college admission process.
Individual Services
COURSE SELECTION & STANDARDIZED TEST GUIDANCE
Your counselor will collaborate with you to make informed decisions based on your academic history, grades, and goals. Additionally, your counselor will review your standardized test scores with you and develop a testing plan. While our counselors do not provide test prep, they can offer resources and guidance in finding appropriate testing resources.
COLLEGE ESSAY SUPPORT
During the college essay support process, your counselor will collaborate with you to create an essay that showcases your unique story. They will guide you through each step and provide multiple rounds of critiques and editorial feedback. your counselor will review your essay a minimum of five times to ensure it is clear, error-free, and truly represents who you are as a person and your future college aspirations. Additionally, counselors are available to provide assistance with any supplemental essays required by the schools on your curated list.
COLLEGE LIST CREATION
We will collaborate to identify your ideal college fit and the type of college experience you desire. We will generate a list of Reach, Target, and Foundational schools that align with your preference. Our goal is to create a a list of schools where you can envision yourself thriving. We will take into account your academic and social interests, as well as discuss potential majors and career plans. Your counselor will provide honest and strategic support, advising you on the different routes to college admissions.
APPLICATION SUPPORT
Your counselor will provide support on all sections of the Common Application. Including help with all activities descriptions and strategic positioning. All applications are reviewed by a Director of College Admissions or Associate Director of College Admissions prior to being submitted. Your counselor will work with you to ensure the application is ready to be submitted. Time management is a large part of the college application process, you will be provided with time management support.
ATHLETIC RECRUITMENT GUIDANCE AND SUPPORT
Your counselor will work with you to navigate the college recruiting process and provide guidance on the schools in which you are being recruited.
MERIT-BASED SCHOLARSHIP IDENTIFICATION & SUBMISSION
Your counselor will work with you to identify merit-based scholarship opportunities. Your counselor will work with you to apply for any opportunities you see fit.
FINANCIAL AID
We will assist your family in navigating the financial aid process and scholarships. They can provide support with both the FAFSA and CSS Profile.
DECISION MAKING
Once you receive all your college decisions, your counselor will assist you and you family in making the right school choice. They will guide you through the process of formally accepting and depositing to school. Additionally, your counselor will help you notify the other schools where you were granted acceptance of your decision. Their goal is to ensure you make a decision that aligns with your needs and the needs of your family on Decision Day.
